01 How to read this list
Every item follows the same pattern: what it is → why we need it → your options. Some items are collected from everyone who opens the site; others only appear if you use a particular feature, such as coins or the Live tab. If you never use a feature, nothing on its line is collected.
The list is grouped by situation rather than by data type, because that is how people usually think about it: “I opened the site”, “I talked to someone”, “I bought coins”. Find the situation you care about and read only that block. Every line also exists in longer form in the Privacy Policy, so nothing here is hidden somewhere else.
02 Collected from every visitor
- Device and browser details (type, system version, screen size, language) → so pages display correctly and we can tell which devices have problems → you can browse in a private window, though the site still needs these basics to load.
- IP address and rough country → to route your connection, show sensible defaults and spot automated traffic → a VPN changes what we see; it does not stop the site working.
- Guest account identifier → so the site recognises your device as the same guest and keeps your conversations and coin history together → clearing site data in your browser ends that guest session.
- Cookies and local storage → to remember your session and simple choices such as your last chat mode → you can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
- Page visits and taps → counted by analytics tools so we can see which pages help people and which confuse them → most browsers let you limit tracking in their privacy settings.
03 Collected when you talk to someone
- Match records (time, mode, the two accounts, how it ended) → to look into reports, stop abuse and answer coin questions → you choose the mode, and Next ends a match whenever you like.
- Camera and microphone stream (Audio and Video modes only) → to carry your voice and picture to the one person you are matched with → refuse the browser permission and use Text mode instead.
- Text messages (in Text matches and in Messages) → so both of you can see the conversation when you return to it → do not type anything you would not want stored, and ask us to delete your account if you are leaving.
- Translation requests (text only, when translation is on) → the message text is sent to a translation service so the other person can read it in their language → switch translation off and nothing is sent.
04 Collected when you shape your own space
- Profile details you add (display name, photos, language) → shown to people who open your profile → all optional; leave them blank or remove them later.
- Follows → so people you liked stay in your list and you can message them or start a camera chat from their profile → unfollow at any time.
- Blocks → so a person can no longer reach you through the site → you can unblock if you change your mind.
- Reports (reason, your note, the match or message involved) → so we can review what happened and act on the account → the reported person is not told who filed it.
05 Collected when you watch
- Live stream and clip views → to suggest what to show you next and to check reports about a stream → you decide what to open; nothing is recorded for streams you never open.
- Live comments → shown to everyone watching that stream and stored with your account → think of them as public and keep personal details out of them.
- A 1v1 started from a stream → handled like any other one-to-one conversation on this list.
06 Collected when coins are involved
- Purchase records (item, price, currency, time, the payment company’s reference) → needed to deliver what you bought, handle questions and meet tax rules → card numbers stay with the payment company and never reach us.
- Coin history (spending on matches, gifts sent, free matches from the Reward Center) → so we can show exactly where coins went if you ask → request a copy at any time.
- VIP status → so the site knows which benefits apply to your account → manage or cancel the subscription where you bought it.
07 Collected when you contact us
- Your email and its attachments → kept with your case so you do not have to explain twice → never send passwords or full card numbers; we do not need them.
08 Things we do not ask for
We do not ask for an ID document to start a chat, we do not need your real name, and we do not ask for your home address or phone number. A guest account is enough to match, message and watch. The people you meet only see what you show them on camera, what you put on your profile and what you type, so the simplest privacy setting of all is to keep your surname, workplace and location out of those three places.
09 Asking for a copy, a fix or deletion
Write to [email protected] from the device you use TalkWithStrangerCam on, say which of the three you want, and we will reply with the next step. Deleting an account removes your profile, follows and messages from the site; records we are legally required to keep, such as purchase history, are held only as long as that obligation lasts.
